Whether it’s a challenge of physical endurance or a not-so-sweaty pledge to raise funds in one day or over several months throughout the year, our Virtual Community Crusaders will create big impact for QEII cancer patients and their families their own way.

Joining a movement of riders, donors, sponsors, and volunteers to transform local cancer care – our Virtual Community Crusaders will rise to the challenge to help fund and bring cancer-fighting technology to the QEII Health Sciences Centre for cancer patients in our region.

Registering as a Virtual Community Crusader in BMO Ride for Cancer means you are investing your time, effort, and creativity into raising funds in support of cancer patients in Atlantic Canada.

No, there is no registration fee to join as a Virtual Community Crusader.

Absolutely! This can be done in the registration process. You choose a username and password; this information can be used to log in to your online account where you can add yourself to a team, start a team, or become a team captain. You can also send fundraising emails, edit your personal fundraising page, and account information – all through this one log-in.

Registering as a team captain as part of our BMO Ride for Cancer movement means that you are committed to rallying your troops. Your goal is to recruit likeminded folks to your team and motivate them to reach their individual fundraising goals and your team’s overall fundraising goals. Teams can be as small as two people or as big as you like. The more the merrier!

It’s the place for family and friends to donate to you online. It’s up to you to personalize it by adding images and a message to show everyone why you are participating as a Virtual Community Crusader, and why they should support you. Log into your Participant Dashboard to get started.

   • Type in the desired team you wish to join OR type in Captain’s first/last name. Click “Search.”

Yes, as a Virtual Community Crusader if you reach all fundraising incentive levels listed on our website (yourrideforcancer.ca) you will qualify for rewards.

Fundraising rewards are based on your individual fundraising. Please ensure that your supporters donate to your personal page for donations to count towards your individual fundraising total.

You can make the donation online on the donor’s behalf using your own credit card. Click “donate” and search for yourself or your team as if you are the donor. Enter the donor’s information in the required fields, and make sure you are not logged into your Participant Centre when you process the payment.

Alternatively, you can write a cheque for the donation amount and mail it in with your donation form(s). Just be sure to enter the donor’s information on the donation form(s). You can write out one cheque covering multiple donations, provided each donation amount is very clearly indicated on each donation form.

We strongly encourage donors to pledge you through the BMO Ride for Cancer website; it is safe and secure. Tell your online donors to watch for an instant email reply, it contains a link to their income tax receipt, which they can save or print immediately.

If you receive cash or cheque donations, you can print and complete a pledge sheet in full so your donors can receive their income tax receipt.  You may either drop it off or mail it to the QEII Foundation office. Our address is 5657 Spring Garden Road, M3, Box 231 Halifax NS B3J 3R4.

Be sure all donations are clearly marked as belonging to your participant account.

Donors who pledge $10 or more will receive an official receipt for income tax purposes from the QEII Foundation (Charitable Business No. 88646 3496 RR0001).

To add your donations to your online account before the event, please drop off funds at the QEII Foundation office before Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Any donations received after this date may not be added to your account before event day.
